Who we are

Remote Campus is a campus workspace operated from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. For the information a college puts into the product — its students, its notices, its library — the college is the controller and we are a processor acting on its instructions. For an individual account, we are the controller.

What we collect

• Account. Email address, password hash, role, account status, and the college you belong to.
• Profile. Name, branch, semester, enrolment number, and anything else you choose to add — skills, projects, links, a photograph.
• Academic. Attendance, internal marks, semester results and syllabus progress, where your college provides them or you enter them.
• Work you create. Notes and papers you upload, resumes you build, applications you track, posts you write.
• Technical. Session records with the device, browser and approximate location of each sign-in, so you can see and revoke them.
• Administrative actions. If you hold a campus or platform role, every privileged change you make is recorded with your identity attached.

We do not use advertising trackers, and there are no third-party analytics scripts on the pages you sign into.

Why we use it

• To show you your own college, timetable, papers and deadlines.
• To rank opportunities against the profile you have given us.
• To let your campus verify that you belong to it.
• To let your college moderate what students publish to each other.
• To keep an audit trail of administrative changes, which your college relies on.
• To keep the service running, secure and debuggable.

Who can see it

Nothing crosses a campus boundary. A campus administrator's access comes from a record naming exactly one college, and every query the campus console makes is filtered by it. In practice:

• You see everything of your own.
• Your campus staff see your academic record, your verification status and anything you publish to the college. They do not see your personal resume, your off-campus applications or your AI conversations.
• Recruiters see verified students who have left recruiter visibility switched on, and only from colleges that permit recruiter access.
• Other students see what your profile visibility setting allows — public, campus-only or private.
• We access account data only to operate the service, investigate a fault or comply with the law.

Processors we use

We keep this list short on purpose, and we will not add to it without updating this page.

• Cloud hosting and database — application servers and PostgreSQL, in the ap-south region.
• Object storage — uploaded files: notes, papers, attachments, avatars.
• Transactional email — verification, notification and password emails.
• A model provider — for Remote AI, under terms that prohibit training on the content we send.

Primary and backup storage are in India. Nothing about your campus is replicated outside the country without a written agreement with your college.

How long we keep it

• While your account is active, and for 90 days after it is deactivated, so an accidental deletion can be undone.
• Sessions expire after 14 days, and revoked ones are purged after 30.
• Audit logs are kept for as long as the college is with us, because their value is in being complete.
• Content you published to your college — approved notes and papers — may remain in your college's library after you graduate, unattributed if you ask.

Your rights

You can, at any time:

• See everything held about you, from your own settings.
• Correct anything that is wrong, or ask your campus to correct academic records they own.
• Export your data in a machine-readable form.
• Withdraw recruiter visibility, or make your profile private.
• Delete your account, subject to your college's own record-keeping obligations.

Write to hello@remotecampus.app and a person will handle it. We aim to respond within seven days and will not make you chase it.

AI and your work

Remote AI is grounded in your own campus: your timetable, your attendance record, your college's library and your resume. That content is sent to a model provider in order to answer your question, under terms that prohibit training on it.

We do not train models on student work, and we do not sell it. Your uploads, marks and conversations exist to serve you.

Students under 18

Remote Campus is built for higher education, and most users are adults. Where a college onboards students under 18, the college is responsible for the consent its own regulations require, and we will support whatever that requires — including switching off recruiter visibility for a cohort entirely.

Changes to this notice

If we change something material, we will say so in the product rather than quietly updating this page, and colleges will be told by email before it takes effect. The date at the top always reflects the last change.
