Terms of use

By using Remote Campus you agree to what follows. If you are agreeing on behalf of a college, you confirm you are authorised to do so.

Accounts

• One account per person. Sharing credentials is the fastest way to lose access to a campus console.
• You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at once if you think someone else has it.
• A campus administrator holds an appointment to exactly one college. Attempting to reach another college's data is a breach of these terms, and it is logged.
• We may suspend an account that is being used to harm other users, and we will tell the account holder why.

Acceptable use

Do not use Remote Campus to:

• Harass, impersonate or threaten anyone.
• Upload material you do not have the right to share.
• Distribute live examination material, or anything intended to help someone cheat in an assessment.
• Scrape, resell or bulk-export other students' profiles.
• Probe, load-test or attack the service without written permission.

Security research is welcome — see the security page for how to report what you find, and the assurances that come with doing so in good faith.

What you upload

You keep ownership of everything you upload. You grant us the licence we need to store it, show it to the people your college allows, and back it up — nothing wider.

Notes and papers you submit to your college's library go to a moderation queue and stay invisible until a campus administrator approves them. Approved contributions may remain in that library after you leave; ask and we will unattribute them.

We do not train models on your work, and we do not sell it.

College responsibilities

A college that deploys Remote Campus is responsible for:

• Who it appoints as campus administrators, and what permissions it grants them.
• The accuracy of the academic records it publishes through the product.
• Moderating what its students contribute to its own library and communities.
• Any consent its own regulations require before onboarding students.

We provide the tools, the scoping and the audit log. The decisions inside a campus belong to the campus.

Availability

We aim for the service to be available whenever your students need it, and we plan maintenance away from examination periods where we know about them. We do not offer a contractual uptime guarantee except on the University plan, where the figure is set out in that agreement.

Billing

• Students never pay. Colleges are billed per verified student per year, annually or in two semester instalments.
• Unverified signups and graduated alumni are not counted.
• A pilot is free and carries no obligation to continue. When it ends, the campus becomes read-only rather than disappearing.
• Price changes are told to you before the renewal they would apply to, and need your agreement.

Intellectual property

The software, its design and its documentation are ours. Your content is yours. Your college's data is your college's — exportable as SQL or CSV from the console at any time, without asking us.

Liability

Remote Campus is a workspace, not an authority. Attendance figures, marks, deadlines and eligibility shown in the product come from what your college publishes into it. Check anything consequential against your college's official record before relying on it.

To the extent the law allows, our liability in any twelve-month period is limited to the fees your college paid us in that period. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited.

Ending the agreement

• You may close your account at any time from your settings.
• A college may end its agreement at the end of a billing period, and we will provide a full export.
• We may end an agreement for serious or repeated breach of these terms, with notice and with an export.
• Nothing is deleted the moment an agreement ends. Data is retained for 90 days so a decision can be reversed.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh have jurisdiction. Where a college has signed a separate agreement with us, that agreement takes precedence over this page.
